Many Happy Returns

Just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction before I start dismantling my R & W Many Happy Returns machine.
Has been working fine since I more or less finished tidying it up about 6 months ago but suddenly it has started sending out 2 balls instead of one, each time a coin is put in. I can't see any obvious reason why it would do this which probably means it IS something obvious

(before anyone else says it, I'm not sure I would ever have been wishing I had only one ball but..... )

I have had similar before and the arm that stops the next ball, does not drop freely. Check the linkages at the back that release the ball are freely running...
