Cleaning old pennies
Cleaning old pennies
I have found that when playing these old machines hands can get very dirty very quickly handling the old coins. I guess the same muck is also being transferred into the machine and coin slides.
I have found that by soaking the old pennies in cheap cola overnight followed by a quick rinse can transform old dirty coins into relatively shiny ones.

Your hands DID get dirty when you were playing the machines; it was all part of the experience.
Have a look at your hands after a good session in today's arcades, it's no different.

Stockwells Cola at Tesco Metro is only 17p for a 2 litre bottle. (Happy slurping!)

......... and if you mix it 3:1 with Toilet Duck it's really quite palatable.
