Is it the one where the table tilts at the end to clear the table?

Not sure as haven't viewed it yet. Has been offered to me locally. Needs work by the look of it. Never seen this type before.

It doubtless tips up at the end of each play. I can't work out how it detects a win, though.
Could be Pugh Automatics. Definitely my type of machine.

It seems to be from the same stable as the Edistan Skittles, discussed here.

In which case, sadly it's... what's the expression? Mutton dressed as lamb? No. All fur coat and no knickers? A deceiver, imposter, faker, hoaxer, masquerader, pretender, charlatan, phoney, fraudster, trickster, poser or mountebank... In short a 'flasher' pretending to be something more sophisticated.

That's a shame!

I'd like a close-up of the mech.
Soon tell if it's really a flasher, with a good pic or two. Would explain the apparent absence of anything to detect a win, though.

I was wondering the same when posted and almost responded with the same. Now we see inside, there are three uniselectors in there......

Still if cheap enough and working |/XX\|

I say Mr. Machines, have a care ... you're describing the woman I love!

Silver Circles was the machine that had the slide down chute and the coin had to land fully inside a circle on the board to pay a win, via optical sensor inside each circle, then the coin was cleared by the play field tilting. I operated some of these and they can be manipulated by punters after the machine has been operating for several hours and the play field warms up quite a lot, if they spit on the coins before they slide down the saliva can prevent a winning coin sliding off and by staying put over a win after the tilt by surface tension, which then keeps paying out again and again.
Half the circles pay 50p , the other half pay £1.

The Skittles machine looks like the coin rolls forward and knocks them down, but the coin just disappears inside and operates a microswitch to active uniselectors flashing the skittle bulbs. A bit of a disappointment.

So if this Wheel-Em-In doesn't tilt the play field maybe it just flashes the squares instead and stops on a win like the Skittles machine?

That's what I was saying, in so many words...

If it has uniselectors, it's likely to be a flasher.
I wonder how the 'LOSE' indication works. On the only EdiStan machine I have, (Greyhound Stadium), the loser is shown when the odds and the winning dog don't match.
Perhaps a hidden word 'LOST' lights up when the table has stopped flashing. I can't see the punter wearing it for very long!

Yes indeed, seems like a big cabinet for little action, when a wall mounted one would have done the job.
