Light bulbs LED

Post by fredslilja »

Hi!
Does someone know if there are lightbulbs LED (fitting in the originals sockets) to use in a Jennings light up slot? Similar to the original brightness and color temperature.
Also planning to use a transformer outside the slot.

I've seen it done.
Although the ones I've observed have been rewired with applicable holders for the LED.
I believe that's to do with the need for LEDs to be +/- specific in their connection.

I'm sure somebody will know if any LEDs are currently available for direct fitting, but as for anything similar to the original brightness and colour temperature I'd be doubtful.
My experience of them is that original incandescent bulbs display an overall mellow, warm hue while LEDs are bright pinpricks of light.

I think LEDs are great for many applications, but not our hobby.

Same here. Leave them to the 'upcyclers'.

Can’t tell for sure from the pics but look like they could be the same type used in em pinball machines. Try here https://www.pinball-led.co.uk/
Personally I don’t like the look in old machines but each to their own...

I'll accept carefully-selected direct-replacement LED bulbs where fragile and flaky glass artwork is in further danger from heat; but that's about it.
