How do I clean this?
How do I clean this?
Just wondered if anyone knows a way to get this part back to looking good? I have tried very fine wet and dry but that left a mat finish. I have tried abrasive polish as in T-cut but that didn't do much. I am sure someone on here has restored this type of metal before.....

Not all of these alloys will polish to a shine. I have had Mills Hi Tops where I have managed to polished the castings to a pleasant brightness and a higher set that stay dull irrespective on whether using a polishing wheel with soaps or wire wool......I have never seen Clubmaster trays shiny ever unless someone decided to chrome, not always a good idea
Re: How do I clean this?
I don't really need it to shine just get the stains out.
Re: How do I clean this?
I have never used sandpaper on this type of item, but use wire wools reducing the fineness with polishing compounds. Only using polishing wheel if high shine is possible as they are bloody messy....there could be staining in the metal itself of course

I use Autosol metal polish on loads of stuff and always have a good result.
