I'm in the process of making new glasses for this machine, clearly a UK conversion, and sort of interesting in its own way, but I've never seen the "button" (??) to the left of the reel window. Anyone got any ideas what it's for? Lights perhaps and is there something odd about the shape of the top casting, or am I imagining it?

I sold one of these at EH a couple of years ago. Just distortion of image.

I was going to say the angle the photo was taken makes it look wider at the top than it is at the bottom.
The button is curious.
My guess is it might be just a "lucky button" that's not connected to anything.

I have a box on the arcade wall with just a £1 slot and a sign 'test your stupidity',
It takes between £3 and £12 a week, nobody has ever complained.

I also have a change machine with banknote validator and sign 'Insert £5, £10, or £20 Notes for £1 coins'
It has a wide thin horizontal aperture with flashing runway LED lamps indicating where to push the banknote in.
At least twice a week someone jams it trying to change a pound coin. Maybe it's the same person?

You can take as many precautions as you like, but you can't guard against customer stupidity.
