Creating an avatar
Creating an avatar
Well I have been coming in here for a while and I think it's time I posted a picture - the type of picture that goes on the left side of the page by your name.
How do I do that??
Scottie.

Re: silly question
OK Scottie,
1.Click on User Control Panel (near top of page)
2.From the options box on the left, click Profile
3.Again in the left Options box, click Edit avatar
Now if you want a pre-made avatar, next to the text Local Gallery click Display Gallery
Then select a category from the drop down box and select an avatar by clicking on the radio button beneath it.
Finally, click the Submit button.
If you want to create your own avatar, you need to do this with an image editing program and when you get to stage 3 above, click the Browse button next to Upload from your machine:
This allows you to browse to the folder that holds the image on your computer. When you've selected it, click Open from the browser window and finally, click the Submit button below the Edit avatar panel.
If you create your own image, it should be either a jpeg (.jpg, .JPG) or gif file not greater than 60.00 KiB and of maximum dimensions; width: 100 pixels, height: 100 pixels.

Re: silly question
Thanks for your help, great instructions.
I wanted to post a picture of one of my machines but they're all too big, so I will settle for this one of the big old penny for now,
Scottie.
P.S ... Iwas trying to post a picture with this posting but it kept telling be to login in and then it didn't work anyways ....more bugs in the system.

Re: silly question
What was the file size of the picture? To find out (using Windows), right click on the file and select Properties.
Re: Creating an avatar
39.9 KB ....I'm not much of a computer guy. I don't know if that's large or not, but I think it's over the limit of this web site for AVATARS....
The picture is not that big "size wise" but I guess that doesn't matter,
Scottie.

39.9 KB is fine and I see you got it to upload this time.
Now it's your cool avatar

Re: Creating an avatar
It worked
Not sure why it worked this time
I was just posting the picture I wanted to use (in the body of the post).
Like I mentioned before, I wanted to use a picture of my own machine....
This one is on its way from the West Coast of the U.S.A. to New York State and I will drive down to pick it up early next week. Can't wait to see it.
