That's Odd!
Not wishing to direct more sleepless nights in Mr P's direction ...... but.
I can't insert any emoticons in posts, and the box for typing in appears near the bottom of the page.

Re: That's Odd!
The text box is at the top of the page until I click in it to type, then it leaps to the bottom of the page.
Still can't use emoticons so ....... no not really.
Also what's the difference between the "new posts" link and the "Notifications" link?

Re. Notifications, this is what I found:
I can't replicate the issue on any browser under Win 7, but will see what I can discover. Could you post a screen grab?
Bet you wish you hadn't asked.I want to use this opportunity to show you the new notifications functionality we built into phpBB Ascraeus 3.1. You may be familiar with the concept of a central location for notifications from Facebook or Google+. The idea is to provide users with a single location that will inform them about all the activity they are interested in. So far this includes notifications regarding posts, such as replies to bookmarked or subscribed topics or posts you have been quoted in, notifications regarding moderation of newly submitted posts waiting for approval and reported posts as well as notifications for new private messages and requests to join a group you lead. You can configure whether and how you would like to be notified for each of these notification types individually in the User Control Panel. The options are email, Jabber or the notification on the website. Extensions can easily add new notification types making the system very flexible.

Re: That's Odd!
OK, what's happened to inserting an image?
We used to be able to do so from our own PC, do we now need to upload first to a host like Photobucket?
Wish I'd stayed in bed this month.

You have to click on the Attachments tab, then Add Files (an indicator shows upload progress). See screengrab.

BP - can you test again?
I've turned off the new image box display to see if that's causing a problem.

Re: That's Odd!
No different except I've had another glass of wine.
Is it just me or is anybody else experiencing this?

Yes, it's you! Or the wine. Or a combination of the two. Or something else. That much is certain.

Re: That's Odd!
I accept that Mr P and as such am fully prepared to go back to stamp collecting instead.
Anyway, they're about the only thing I can pick up now I've had one shoulder operated on and still have another waiting muscle re-attachment.

Re: That's Odd!
Today I have emptied The Cache, cleared all Ad/Spy Bot trails, scanned the system, cleaned all dry grease of the curtains and vacuumed the roof tiles ...... Resulting in ..... bugger all difference!
Next I think I'll try dunking digestives in tea.

Re: That's Odd!
I think the new photo upload is much better, just select all the photos you need in one go and bingo they they all upload in seconds, might be worth adding a line of text that comes up when you click "attachments" making it clear what the max file size is for a photo (smilies work for me BP )
