Emails

I sent an email to a forum member at 5.10pm today but despite it saying that the message was sent there is nothing in my emails to indicate this-has something gone wonky? Thanks.

Hi,
I was notified that your message was blocked "Spam Message Rejected".
Could you try sending yourself a message directly (from your computer - not via the forum) using the email account you have registered in your profile here and see if there is a problem with it.

Done that and it was fine-that is without checking my email address in my member details as I couldn't see a way of doing that.

I received this response from host technical support this afternoon.
Could you please try and send a test mail message (that means with different text or simply to say Hello) to some of those E-mails for testing purpose only, because the reason for your mail message to be blocked by them or to be considered as spam could be some of their filters.
I explained that you tested your account and found it to be working.
I'll now send you two test emails - one from the forum (with text message 'from the forum') and one directly from an email account unassociated with this website (with text message 'not from the forum').
Please let me know the result.

It would seem that the message is being rejected by Plusnet's incoming mail servers. This could be for several reasons, perhaps something in the email header or something in your message which is being incorrectly flagged as Spam. Next step is to contact Plusnet. I've attached the delivery failure email notice to an email I sent to you so you can forward it to Plusnet.
It might also be worth adding the forum email address to the Spam control whitelist in your Member Centre Manage My Mail tool here.
