Still Slow

Post by cadillac55uk »

I have to agree that the site is running slow at present, it has just taken 9 mins to get through to this page to post this comment. The site is worth the wait (most of the time lol)

Not had any problems with site running slowly -- I just can't get the Home Page "latest" button to work properly any more!

I'm finding that the window and left-hand buttons come up almost immediately, with a plain white background. After a minute, the grey speckled background will appear. Then from 1 to 3 minutes after that, the page may or may not appear. Often it only partially loads and the bottom half is missing, then the whole process has to be started again. Totally frustrating. I sometimes go off to look at other web sites whilst this one loads.

I've noticed a strange phenomenon though. Whilst staring aimlessly at the screen with the grey background, it suddenly went into 3D, like those trick 3D 'magic eye' pictures. There's no picture on it (obviously) but the pattern appears to be about 6" behind the window, with true parallax and everything. It's quite amazing.

Has anybody else seen this effect?

Yes, same here. Whatever it was, it was nothing to do with our individual computers.

But how come it only affected some people and not everybody?

I've inly been here a couple of weeks but it runs nice and fast for me. It probably helps that I mostly visit in the middle of the British night, when the pipes have had time to drain.
