2010 What now ?
Here we go another year and decade. Do you remember when you were a child and you worked out how old you'd be in the year 2000 ? .......... and then decide that was so old you'd never make itt? Well I got news for you , that was ten years ago!
So what "still to be tackled" projects are you lumbering into the next decade with?
These are mine: -
Jennings Governor x 2
Jennings Galaxy
Mills Extraordinaire
Bradley Challenger
Conveyor (still!)
............ in fact if I think about it the above would have been in last year's list as well, except for the fact that there would have been a few others as well which did get done in 2009.
Here's hoping for a good one for everyone

Re: 2010 What now ?
Ah....outstanding projects. They are rather like unrequited love: painful to contemplate but impossible to ignore.
When I purchased the Glenn Collection out of California in 2002, most of the 56 allwins needed attention in some form or fashion. The exotic machines beckoned more effectively and received priority. Now, the commoners are still left, parts missing, mechanisms tampered; I avert my eyes.
The problem of course is they are not RECENT. A new project comes in the door and I am compelled to attend. The commoners remain in the shed, growing older and more resentful.
I have regret.

Re: 2010 What now ?
Hi BP. Happy New Year!
Things to keep me out of the house and in the shed for 2010 are as follows:-
Gottlieb Word Fair Pintable, had a few pinballs over the years.... but now I have a dedicated room to keep one in now my eldest son has left home. :adore:
Arcadian aristocrat Fiesta, I have to get this going for my 4 year old grandson as he keeps telling me it’s his machine! Maybe a next generation slottie here??? (thanks Kevin)
2 x 1950s/60s wall mounted penny chewing gum machines; that I keep tripping over, so I must get them sorted this year before I brake something.
And last but not least a Roto-Pool wall machine that needs a full refit of parts, anyone got one that I can come and take a look at, or borrow, or take photos,???? I have worked on one before but never rebuilt one from scratch.... HELP!
AND THEN...........in Febuary!!!!!!!!! LOL.

Re: 2010 What now ?
I need a 'build it yourself cabin' in the garden with heating to house my seven machines and my seventeen crate collection of action figures.
So saving hard right now. Got a few bits of chroming to sort out for two sega bandits, need a couple of keys working for locks and a cabinet strip and repaint on a sega windsor. Enough to keep me going for a couple of months. Happy new year everybody Malc

Sega Lite-Up Diamond Star
Sega Hi Top
Mills Hi Top

Duchess MkI
Mills Lite-Up
Mills Bursting Cherry
Three Mills Hi-tops
Mini Sega -Vest
Lord Sega
Sega Continetal
Sega Buckingham
4 Sega Lite-Ups
Aristocrat Sheerline
Aristocrat Nevada
And on and on and on..........Oh dear

Re: 2010 What now ?
Happy New Year to you all! Sorry this is late, but it's taken three days to tot-up my projects (some of which have been projects for far, far too long).
Here's the list so far (until I remember some forgotten treasures).
In order of priority:
S&L Conveyor (after about 15 years).
S&L Sky Jump (been operating for 12 years, but still not perfect).
Jay Pee Sky Jump (only about 2 years, this one.....just a baby)!
Bradfort Zodiac (waiting 7 years - this is the year)!
Balloons (very rare two player game - waiting 3 years).
Cromptons Cheyene Shoot (started re-building about 8 years ago).
Cromptons Duck Shoot (acquired same time as above).
Very rare electric shock machine (about 14 years).
Mr Scoopy capsule vendor (nice operating machine - waiting about 8 years).
Bradfort Gypsy F/T (My wife bought me this for my 40th birthday - God, that was a long time ago)!
Rock-Ola Ice Hockey (waiting about 10 years).
Midway arm wrestling machine (also about 10 years).
BMCo Digger allwin (waiting about 16 years).
BDR bandit (been in my dad's shed for about 12 years).
Hawtins allwin (12 years waiting - might not bother)!
I'll update when I think of some more.
Jerry

Re: 2010 What now ?
I have a couple in progress, but in general, Operatrix Bell keeps me on the job. When I eye up another machine she makes dark comments about "all those machines in the garage you haven't finished yet", and even at times says I "have enough machines", as if that were possible. Actually I only have one machine that isn't in working order - the others are just needing attention to the case or glass, or a bit of chroming. The sicko is my recently acquired 1922 Mills Operator's Bell, which has a major crack in the brass tube that's the shaft for the left reel.

I quite fancy a 1950s type rifle gallery, but they don't come up very often.Longbobongo wrote:No projects for me

The cowman's projects include a Lighthouse Gripper by Quested Automatics (8 foot high and won't fit in their house ), a Circle Skill wall machine and a Charles Ahrens Punch Ball.

Re: 2010 What now ?
No, not for sale, sorry. I will have to dig the floor out a bit or have the top sticking out upstairs? but I don't think the latter will go down well

Re: 2010 What now ?
I see your line of thinking Jimmy but don't think putting your lighthouse down a well is the answer.

Re: 2010 What now ?
I like the look of the lighthouse. You don't see many up for sale. Thinking about it, I've never seen any up for sale . Has anyone ever seen one in a public amusement arcade lately???

Re: 2010 What now ?
How far down does the punch-bag drop?
I wouldn't want to take a swing at it with that iron guard too close ...... could make your knuckles sting a bit.

Re: 2010 What now ?
Have you seriously never seen or played one BP!? Though the punchball in this video doesn't return right back into the cradle as it should.
