You never know what you might find

Today I started work on a Jubilee Mk1 that had come from a cafe in France prior to the introduction of the Euro. When I removed the coin tray from the base this is what a found:

203 sixpences (inc. 2 silver ones), 6 french 1 cent and a new half penny, Every space was jammed with coins, 6 deep, the French coins were just overflowing into the coin box space. Anyone find anything interesting in a machine?

Most of the time I only find unpleasant things......

I think Merv wins the prizes for the the greatest find in a machine and I don't mean the 5 litre of oil, that came with the £400 of 20p coins in his scales....

The old Ghost Train on Rhyl Fairground and a wall-mounted ciggie machine in N. Wales (I can't recall where) both (somehow?) leaked coins into the wall cavities supporting the coin/token slots until they burst - spilling coins from donkey's years onto the floor...

Nowt like finding 30+ Caille, Mills & Watling floor machines or cast irons walled up in disused old taverns in America though....
