Jennings galaxy
As part of my continuing quest to "Save the Slots" I have just saved this Jennings Galaxy from a slow death. As usual when you delve into a machine new things and views always become apparent . Ive never owned one of these and it was interesting to see the last good Jennings (in my view)close up.
At a time when TV was king the design is interesting with its TV like shape encouraging the player to peer into the the TV like reel area. Almost the entire front is chrome and with a lot of work I was able to save most of it, the cash tray is a lose unless I have it re-chromed (i might). The lights were not working ,the ballasts both broken, I found a place selling new ones at just £3.00 each and I will rebuild the lighting system but for now I tried using a flexible LED strip which I was able to run through the route of the three strip lights. The harsher LED light seems to suit the harsh chrome finish of the Galaxy very well.
This model came with Formica covered sides and base, the edge of the base was totally ruined so I tried a iron on Formica strip that I had in stock that exactly matched the base. I've never tried this before and it worked really well. A lot of work on the chrome (and the Indian head, which as usual was gummed up with dirt and cleaning wax) and three new locks and that was that. So here it is, another survivor.

Well done coppinpr; you're an inspiration.
Perhaps now I may get around, perhaps, to restoring my Galaxy for which I even have new front castings ..... maybe ......
What's your next project?

Hi Coinopinpr, looking forward to seeing your Groetchen '21' resto.
Here's a pic of a Groetchen Twenty One I did a while back.

Re: Jennings galaxy
Do you have photos of the gum ball mech? The delivery part seems to still be there but the tub/rack is missing. I'm wondering if I can make the missing parts. Here's a pic of a Groetchen Twenty One I did a while back.

Re: Jennings galaxy
Sorry, mine has had the gumball mech removed.
I do need the little gumball door though, if you know where I could get one.

Re: Jennings galaxy
Mine has the door and the linkage attached to it. I also have the linkage to the mech, just the tube assembly is missing If I could see one, I think I can make one. Anyone any ideas?
