Bryans Fivewin stripes

Another one of my projects this summer is replacing the backflash on my Bryans Fivewin.
Is there a correct direction the stripes should descend in, from left to right or from right to left or is both correct.

For many years they went from bottom left to top right, however, in later years they went from bottom right to top left. It was suggested that Jim Bryan got it wrong when he ordered a batch in the 1970s but who knows? These 'back to front' backflashes are often found on machines that have the later rectangular payout cups.

A rather nice late 5 win in streamline case that was at a Knowle auction around 2008 showing the 'other' direction of stripe and rectangular payout cup.

This is the current backflash it has, the person who originally did it, must have run out of green stripes

looks a tidy machine Alan, has the chrome been re-done?

Hi Arrgee,
Yes it's been re chromed. I've now had the hinges re chromed too. The oak cabinet had the old varnish taken off down to bare wood.
Then linseed oiled and waxed.
It's just the backflash to sort out now.
