Really nice German Peanut vendor

Post by coppinpr »

I couldn't be at Coventry thus year but that didn't stop me selling 5 and buying 4 machines(thanks to the help of another forum member) including this really nice early 50's German Treff peanut vendor , I think it was a bargain, the only other one Ive seen sold in the last year was in the US and that went for $300 and didn't have original locks. This one has both top and bottom original locks and keys (they are particularly unusual)and a lovely glass bowl.
It was just about badly enough knocked about for me to decide to restore it . The hammered gold was badly chipped, the makers name plate was badly damaged in places and all the decoration on the handle and mech had worn off so I chose to restore it in all original colours and to repair the name plate, I even found the serial number when I worked on the base door. looks now much as it did when it rolled out of the factory 60+ years ago. Thanks Coventry for the chance to buy something a little different.
