Dime Charley redeemed

Does anyone have any idea what this is about? Makes no sense to me at all. It's out a horoscope machine.

Being used as an instant lottery machine :!?!: Put in your 6d and if your card has one of the winning numbers you take it to the desk to claim your prize !PUZZLED! Perhaps using the same folded crimped lucky number squares used in fairs.

"Dime Charley" looks like a repurposed vending machine from a gentleman's lavatory.

Nice job, do you think the two coin entry/exit slots were originally for his and hers horoscopes? I've seen that on other machines.

Quite possibly could have been but seen no mention of his and hers on it under all the rust.

Very nice job widget !THUMBS!
It's difficult to get any sense of scale, but just going by the coin entries and lock, this seems to be quite a small machine? (certainly not allwin size).
As coppin has inferred, I'd agree this was a 'his' and 'her' vendor - I can't come up with any other reason why it would basically be two machines in one.
Just out of interest, can we see a picture of the mechanism? I'm intrigued to know how the paper fortunes are fed, or are they thick cards like earlier British fortune machines? (Incidentally, I'm assuming this is American)?

Once again, nice job!

Thanks Jerry.

Here is the mech and original paperwork stuck to the back of the case.
It is a small machine indeed and was originally on 5 cents, but always on 6d since is got it.
