Yes the step off is from the image.
Thanks for noting.
Easy fix. !!CHEERS!!

I figured the cards came on the glass so I would leave them in.
They can be cut out easily if you wanted. :!?!:

While on the topic do the stripes go all the way to top and bottom or is there a horizontal strip as I put in my image.
I can't tell if that stripe is there or if it's a reflection of the box frame. !PUZZLED!

Not looking to supply these.
I just want to dress up my machine and the finished image will be there for members to get printed if they wish. !!THUMBSX2!!

The top and bottom horizontal strips are correct. At the top the visible width is about the same as the width of the vertical stripes; at the bottom it is only just visible.

Thank you pennymachines. !!CHEERS!!

The sign place that I asked for a quote got back to me.
They don't print and I don't want it cut in individual strips, so I'll look for a graphic print shop.

One more question since I don't have access to a glass to compare. Are the graphics and mirroring on the front or back of the glass?

The original cards also went on the back of the glass. They needed to be separate so operators could vary the payouts and, for that matter the language.

Only cards are not 'original' - always a later fix-up. The original glasses were mirror and screen printed complete with instructions and payouts in German. Although coinage was often converted from 10 Pfennig to 1D, operator adjustment of payouts wasn't an option - always two coins on Red and Black or 4, 6, 8 and 12 as per the roulette wheel.

Looking at others, I see some show the same width of vertical stripe top and bottom, so I guess it's just how the glass sits.

Interesting, I've never seen one with the cards as part of the glass, yet plenty with the card areas empty and completely clear (I've had three). Does this mean those glasses are not original but perhaps just made for export?

No, it just means the screen printed instruction/payout areas have been stripped so cards can be stuck in place. If the glasses had been made for export they would simply be screen printed in English. As I mentioned, English glasses were made for most German bandits from this period.

coppinpr your picture on page three looks to be cards separate from glass yet arrgee's post on page four appears to be part of the glass.

I will do mine as part of and in German but being vinyl it can be cut out easily if wanted.

I found a place that said they can do a print to be attached to the back of the glass using windex at a cost of about $30 Canadian so about £18 per print.
This allows easy placement pecause the whole image can be shifted while it is still wet and before you squeegee it
I will hear more from them tomorrow.
I'm sure if I shopped a little I could get it cheaper or if you had a few done on a sheet the cost would go down.

I'm not completely surprised at the price quoted. In the UK the price varies a lot but is never cheap. Of course we in the UK know nothing about general prices in Canada but I'd guess that quote was too high but a price around $100 might be expected.

Vistaprint online shows that a print for a window decal ( inside installed ) would be $25 + tax but they only list white or transparent as backgrounds on order sheet.
Their online ordering also sets the image to fit the page and allows you to size it from there but without anything to indicate outcome size.
In this case size does matter!
I will be trying to contact them today.

you could always add your own mirror finish to the back of the vista print clear version :!?!:

having had a look at their web site you would need to increase the size of your design by adding a border round your needed size to make the size up to 60cm by 60cm, then remove the border when it arrives leaving you with the correct size

Going with the transparent vinyl at a cost of $31.05 total.
Still will need to add mirroring.
Here is the image I used as a JPEG.
It has the proper transparency, the canvas has been enlarged for print on a 18" x 24" sheet and the image is placed to the side a bit on the canvas so the image isn't cut off by the printer.

Not a good picture due to lighting in the man cave.
The print job could have been better since I had it done at Vistaprint.
Still need to do the mirror background.
That will have to wait for warmer weather because I'm going to use the spray on.

Just an update on how this has held up.
It is out in an unheated man cave so it is subject to hot, cold, damp or dry conditions.
Been out there a couple years now and has held up quite well.
I thought it might pull loose a bit but it still looks new.
I'm quite happy with how it turned out.
The people I've had over have never seen one of these but none suspected this was not original.

Thanks for the update. Did you go with the mirror spray or a mirror backing?
