Jockey Club
I rather like this machine, mainly because of the use of real jockey names. Can anyone tell me who made it (Jamiesons perhaps?) I'd like to think it dates about 1960 going by the jockeys used (and those that are missing), running now on 2np it was originally running on old half pennies which is rare.

Re: Jockey Club
This Jockey Club has to be made by Jamieson's. Despite what the seller says, this machine would have worked on old penny coins. None of these type were on half pennies.

I would agree with you about the 1d coins but, the photo from inside shows no room for 1d unless all the chutes have been moved, which seems unlikely.

Vintage coinop machine & Horse Racing graphics... The Right Buyer would pay a lot of money for that...
Re: Jockey Club
The distance is the problem. It's in Devon, or Cornwall, isn't it?
(That's Scobie Breasley, by the way, not Bobby Beasley, the Irish jump jockey).

Re: Jockey Club
The coin chutes look old penny to me, but the coin tube is sleeved.
Nice machine but it's located past the final pine tree then turn left.
Not the sort of thing to trust to a courier.

Re: Jockey Club
When the payouts on these don't work they are a nightmare. There may be others out there that can problem trace on them but the only person I knew who really got to the bottom of them was our own Stuart Dale. Even then it was torturous to watch such a mild and polite man turning into a snarling beasty.

Re: Jockey Club
It would have looked good next to my Steeplechase, but I viewed the same machine in January and it was not for me from what I saw.

Re: Jockey Club
No Badpenny, the same machine was for sale on Facebook page, North East Lincolnshire Reclamation. I went to Grimsby to view it. He wanted £325.

Assuming it's the same one, I wonder what the story is that led it to Devon? How long ago did you see it in Grimsby?
It'll be interesting to see if we get a new member in a week or so asking How do I get ..........

I saw it in January, It is the same one because the 2 x red 2p signs on the front and also I saw it for myself and will never forget those coloured wires all over the place, looks like the apprentice electrician had been to work on it.

Re: Jockey Club
interesting that the payouts cant be correct, I should have noticed earlier that the payouts are old penny yet the input 2np ,therefore the shilling winner is impossible, I wonder if it pays 12 times 2np?

Re: Jockey Club
I would think the payout is the same number of COINS, irrespective of value. It's a good thing the glass hasn't been defaced, makes it much easier to put right.
