Not a Muto lens sadly as far too thin. This guy must have found a box full.

Thank you to gameswat for alerting everyone that the advert was not what it seemed. I posted it in good faith thinking it was "what it said on the packet". As no expert on this, I am glad it was spotted so quickly and trust no one tried to buy one.

No problems sweetmeats, we enjoy the chase wherever it leads.
So few of us could accurately identify such a specialist item anyway.
All of us rely heavily on those that are prepared to share their knowledge just as we also depend on those happy to signpost.

BP

DD, oops. If you'd searched on here first you'd have seen an older post where I listed the exact sizes of the two glass Muto lenses.

Large model lense = 4 & 1/4" wide x 2 & 1/8" high - fits cast iron models and big head tin models.

Small model lense = 3 & 7/8" wide x 1 & 9/16" high - fits small head tin models.

The lense you purchased is listed as "5.75 " long x 1.5" wide" . Probably used in some kind of non stereo tabletop card viewer.
