Electro Playball

Post by treefrog »

An electro mechanical Oliver Whales Playball has appeared on ebay, I am assuming this was an aftermarket feature and looking at the wiring not done very well, but what the benefit in doing this in the first place as I assume it would be to operate the ball release and payout, instead of manual. Seems like there is not a lot to gain !PUZZLED!

If you look closely at picture 4 on the ebay listing, you can see that two steel pins have been added to the backflash area at the top, probably to decrease the chances of winning. Will there be someone out there who really wants this? We will see.

There are a number of these at Bridlington. They make quite a satisfying clunk when the payout kicks in, however they are a safety nightmare with 240 v and no earth. I sold one a few years ago for an unbelievable £700, so yes, someone will probably pay good money for it.
