Gawd ... not again!

Post by badpenny »

Now I'm sure they're really good.
Super value, very collectible and all, plus I'm not one to be jealous of others' business success, best of luck I say, but .......

Am I the only one getting tired of wading their way through Miniature Pinball Table Model - made in 1/12th scale on what seems a daily basis?

No Andy, but this is for those who don't regularly look at eBay UK Coin Operated.

Mind you, if he does a 1964 Gottlieb World Fair, then I'll be an immediate customer and no mistake guv.

Are we looking at the same thing, Mr BP? I put my hand up to having bought my fair share of crap from ebay (recent Sheerline purchase refers), but even I would not touch one of these things. They look really tacky (but that is just my opinion, others may have differing views) and I am a tad fed up with the sight of them.

Seems there are many others out there who don't agree with us.
If we believe the Business Information packages available on the web, then the last 15 days have resulted in this vendor doing .........

Items Sold:29.45%
Total Value Shipping:£532.16
Total Value Sold:£1599.86
!PUZZLED!

No wonder new items appear almost daily.

My main area of interest is the 1930s/ Art Deco coin op but I also own two early eighties pinballs and they are appreciating quicker than my 1930s slots.
Pinball has much broader appeal than bandits and wall machines and there are several vast collections in the UK as well as USA.
I bought my last pinball, a Williams early Eighties machine for £450 and did a re rubber and a few bulbs changed and sold it for £1000.
I think you would struggle to do that with most other classic coin ops in the current market and pinball really does seem to be bringing a lot of new interest amongst the forty somethings at the moment!

Us fifty somethings as well (as long as they're devoid of LEDs and those tiny little black squares that ruin your day if they release the dreaded blue smoke).

Also some of us have a SWMBO to contend with!

"The term originates from the H. Rider Haggard novel, "She" (first published 1886). The character Ayesha, known as She-who-must-be-obeyed, the Queen of Death, the White Goddess,of the lost city of Kôr who rules her kingdom with terror, She is the very image of the Femme Fatale. To disobey her or to scorn her is to earn & receive instantaneous death."

We have all been there at some point BP, need I say more......................... :!?!:

Just had a squint at eBay and found 140 1/12th scale models to wade through.

I know I could search "-scale model", but I always forget until the next time.

Five months on and the question now is ........

Can there really be such a massive market out there for Arcade Joysticks and Buttons that one supplier finds it worthwhile to run over eleven hundred eBay listings simultaneously? ...... all basically the same! Just different colours !! !!RANT!!
