Coventry Auction Sunday 24th November 2013
Well boys & girls here we are just two months from the next Big One.
As usual we shall be at The Coundon Social Club Coventry Sunday 24th November 2013.
I've just returned from visiting one of my collector friends who sensibly steadfastly refuses to allow his fingers to be contaminated by the internet.
A quick rummage through his outhouse and he was persuaded to earmark the following........
And so the preparation starts again.
Start digging out your lots everyone, JC will be sending out the forms in the magazine. Check out the site here
Also see previous years............
As many of you already know, the majority of our entries come from owners not familiar with this site and prefer to keep themselves out of the mainstream. Consequently most of our lots are new to the market and not the same old tosh doing the rounds. The lots I've secured for example were last offered for sale about thirty years ago.
Can you afford not to be there?

Entry forms will be included with the October magazine, which will hopefully be at the printers later this week. For those who do not subscribe to the magazine, you can:
1) Subscribe
2) PM me your email address, and I'll email you an entry form.

Thanks Stuart , now I remember why I appointed you publicity manager!
Re: Coventry Auction Sunday 24th November 2013
Well, the ball's on the roll . The October magazines were posted Friday and Saturday (entry forms included), so you should receive shortly. Some of our regular vendors that I've spoken to over the last couple of weeks have already pledged over sixty machines between them (which include some rarities) . I've also emailed a few forms to non subscribers, and have already had a couple returned .
So, one of our early entries is this rather nice turn of the century bagatelle wall machine, which appears to be in very good condition.......seems we're off to a good start!

Don't leave your entries until the end folks.
Let us know asap what you're putting in and we'll market them for you.
We've proven again and again that forewarning creates enthusiasm and focuses the attention of the bidders.
Whilst late entries are treated as also rans, even when they're choice items.
If you're thinking of chucking a wedge at something I'm sure you'd want to do a bit of planning and research first.
Make our experience work for you.

Re: Coventry Auction Sunday 24th November 2013
Another great addition of "MM" arrived today, just had to mention the classic line from JC on the "Coventry 13" page.
"If your bringing a friend or your wife"
"If your bringing a friend or your wife"
Re: Coventry Auction Sunday 24th November 2013
Mmm...........just as well I didn't say 'have' to bring your wife....

Re: Coventry Auction Sunday 24th November 2013
Hello,
Is there a lots book just so we know what is up for auction before the auction starts and can anyone tell me what the buyers have to pay, i.e. %, what is it and the VAT too? Cheers.
Basically me and a fellow colleague will be coming down. If we bought a machine for say, as an example, £140 - how much would the total be?
Cheers.

Hi Leslie,
At the Coventry auction you will pay only 6% commission. That will be £6 for every £100 you spend, which for an auction is pretty damn good...

That is a brilliant price love it, thanks Stu. Is there a catalogue available before the auction?

The sooner vendors tell us what they are submitting the sooner we can get the catalogue out.
However the answer to your question is .....
Yes, catalogues are posted out beforehand.

Time for an update, I think....
Well, once again, our regular vendors haven't let us down.
We already have 100+ lots, a good percentage of which are machines, and some particularly nice ones at that.
I've started to upload pictures onto my MMM site - more will be added over the next week or so.
