Numbola

Post by pennymachines »

Following Treefrog's recent thread on the strange Erratique wall machine, here's another oddball - the Numbola, sold for a mere £60 at the Elephant House yesterday. Again, it's one of those machines which I thought might be some sort of scratch-built affair, but again proves otherwise on close inspection. The cabinet looks distinctly Oliver Whales but the complex electro-mechanicals have more in common with a Jamieson flasher like the Rotopool. Could this be one of their early efforts built into an old OW case?
I didn't buy it, by the way.

It's not an Oliver Whales case - it's Shefras. Jamiesons were in close contact with Shefras, so perhaps it is a Jamieson-built machine using a Shefras case. Whatever its history, I'm not surprised it only made £60 - what a God-awful looking machine!

I am a little puzzled as regards how it is powered !PUZZLED!
I can't see a transformer or rectifier, unless it is in the main cabinet :!?!:

Aha - that makes sense, and come to think of it, it has something in common with the prettier Shefras Race Track flasher.

Yes, the transformer/rectifier was in the back.

What about 3 Bells - Shefras or Jamieson?

Ian Jamieson played on my Three Bells machine and says he doesn't remember them making it, so chances are someone was copying Jamiesons!!
