A few years ago... about 25, my wife suggested I should collect Bryans machines as these would be a good investment. At that time a Payramid was £400 and a Retreeva £500. I decided not to. Now I can't even afford a Payramid! !!SUICIDAL!!

You are not alone there, Cheeky. Every time I save enough cash for a Payramid there are none on sale then, by the time any come on the market, that cash has been used to pay for something else! There are two that I can see in the Elephant House bundle and, having finally got up the nerve to upgrade my boat, I am broke and will not be going.

Could someone please confirm whether the collection offered by Elephant House was the one promised for Coventry.

I'm getting some money together too and would hate to go to the wrong auction.

Thanks Dave.

If we all new that 10 grand terraced houses
We're going to go over 100 k ,we would have all been
Buying them, that's what they were 20 years ago in liverpool

Same as machines,it's supply and demand

What's the rockets going to make :!?!:
Only ever seen one on the market in 10 plus years
And that was on American eBay and a known collector
Bribed him to end the auction he paid a good few dollar for it,,
Lookin forward to this one
Not that I need anymore bryans but
Quite a collection
They look good all on display,,I can see one man buying the lot
When there pictured like this it's very tempting

There is also not a lot of stuff to buy out there
The fairs are all pretty crap at the mo
Not just for machines either, any kind of decent collectable is in short supply
A lot of my friends who just go buying at the fairs are all struggling to buy
Anything,,,it's all gone lads,,it not infinity, it's got to run out sometime,,
Plenty of aristos about still tho !PUNISH!

I don't think it would do the reputation of the Elephant House any good if they stooped so low as to deliberately take an auction away from Coventry :o or would they?? -\O/-
As far as I know it is not the same lot. :D

I don't really think there would be
Any regrets from an auction house
For getting machines in promised to another
It's a free world !!YIPPEE!! !!YIPPEE!!
And when moneys involved
All morals are dropped
That's in my experience anyway

A couple need stripping right down (nothing new there for most of these) and a rub down with the sporting life, but they will never look like they did when new.

Yes, certainly some quality looking items there, even ignoring the Bryans machines for a moment. I have my eye on one machine, which of course one has to keep one's self, but the machine so far I find most interesting/unusual is the Dual-Racer, what a wall machine, this looks great.....wonder who made it (BMCo?)

I suspect prices will again be high and I will walk away with no machines again, which is no bad thing has have been restricting myself of late. Even could not be bothered to bid on the below BDR at a recent auction with jackpot and original stand that sold for a £100

Handle, payout cup and marquee don't match BMCO. Reminded me of the Pool Tote in Arcades book page 5. And sure enough Dual racer is listed as a Quested machine from 1932.

Dual Racer is a nice machine, if you look closely it only has one slot. I was shown one of these a few years ago (could be the very same) but could not afford it at the time and if my memory serves me right, when you put in your penny, it is then propelled around the track in the right hand game and when the penny is caught in one of the rectangular cups, that in turn releases the ball in the left hand allwin - a really good game.
