Re: Elephant House Auctions
PM has posted just the results of the slot machines. It was a "no reserve barn sale".

Yes, the full results will do doubt appear on the EH website in due course, but I only record hammer prices of coin-op interest.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
How much did that brand new old stock Sega Continental one armed bandit sell for? Amazing to see an unused 50 year old machine! I went to Vintage Amusements' auction today. The clash with EH, also held today, is crazy. It's not exactly a crowded market.
Re: Elephant House Auctions
Someone told me it was either 1200 or 1600 squid......lotta of dosh for a big lump of metal.....not sure I would have gone more than 500 or 609 for the Novelty....the nice thing was to see the moving illumination working in the front glass. What was a shame is that the front doors in these had a brush metal finish, which easily tarnished and got dirty. It looked to me like someone had tried to clean this, probably using metal cleaner, which was a bad idea.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
It loads OK on my tablet and phone (both Android), but it's a big page, so that might be an issue. I could try splitting it into 2 pages (tomorrow).
Re: Elephant House Auctions
Some bargains there for the non-mainstream collector.
I'll be at the next one.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
As he is selling the stock of a Architectural salvage business I had not envisaged there being slot machines.jimmycowman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 12:21 pm Anyone going to Steve's on site Auction at Gateshead. The next sale at the EH is a January clear out, where it's more likely to have slot machines.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Disappointing - I put it in the Calendar because of that comment. The 'January Junk Clearout' will, I think, be as described (junk).
Never mind - the Las Vegas sale (26-27) is full of arcade treasures.

Apologies I had not read that. I just look at the catalogues.jimmycowman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 3:03 pm I was only going off what Steve wrote on his site a while back. "and yes there will be slot machines"..... But obviously not.....................
Perhaps there will be some last minute additions.
Re: Elephant House Auctions
The auction is in mccartneys yard
Don't know wether steve knows this
But he's got machines on ebay
Now
And he had a sale at the weekend everything in the yard 50% off
If steve has pictures on his site and it's been sold last weekend
It ain't going to be good for the buyer
I hope the owner tells him this
Which he is not probably likely to I bet
So I would make enquiries first
