Re: Elephant House Auctions
Fair Point, Bryans Fan, should have understood what EH meant as they never used the word "original"

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Looks like the Jennings Sweepstake, ex Gibraltar casino machine may be on the move again, as it's listed on ebayUS: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131604687155#shpCntId.
I am sure my local post office would be thrilled trying to push that through their small letter/bigletter/smallparcel perspex gauge.... 'sorry it's just over!'

Re: Elephant House Auctions
I've seen this one in the flesh, the vendor is well known and a member of this forum.
Certainly a cracking piece of kit.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
I've got to agree with Badpenny a very nice machine. I saw it go for £3000 plus commission at the Elephant House last year. Tried the link to EBay but it has been removed. I wonder if it is still for sale? If it is still in this country I would be interested.

Nice one gameswatGameswat wrote:Need to check your exchange rates Jingle!
That looks like its affordable to holiday there again
Is it still 4 dollars for a coke in the shops
Re: Elephant House Auctions
$4 soft drinks, guess it really depends on the stores you frequent Jing - Yuppie!
Re: Elephant House Auctions
I remember when I lived there in 2004/5Gameswat wrote:$4 soft drinks, guess it really depends on the stores you frequent Jing - Yuppie!
A small super market round the corner from the house and they were
4 bucks,,a tinnie of coke
It was 2.35 to the pound then
A couple of years ago it was about 1.25 to the pound or may even of been lower
That would of been about £3 plus for cola
I got use to the tap water

Re: Elephant House Auctions
the aus exchange rate gets worse by the day,and the surprising thing is people in the money markets here cant see exactly why! I met Australians while I was in Istanbul last week who were distraut ,there travel costs were getting higher each day and some were on very long trips
Re: Elephant House Auctions
And imagine living in Perth, the most remote capitol city on earth! So transporting everything here from the east coast makes it even more expensive. Let alone from around the world. I pity any fool dumb enough to collect rare and hard to find objects in such a forlorn place.........................

Re: Elephant House Auctions
now now Gameswat ,your playing with words here, Perth is only the State capital not the national capital, mind you Canberra is a bit like Ankara and Brasilia, a pointless place to have a national capitol
Re: Elephant House Auctions
Haha, well pointed out, but people have been saying it like that for years so everyone says that. In fact it can be debated depending on 1million, more or less inhabitants of the city as to which one is the most remote. I just know that to truck, ship, post or camel anything here costs a lot!
