EH / Collector Connector sales
Re: Elephant House Auctions
Gameswat, sorry got distracted and lost track after is went over £2k....was a nice little collection of machines from the same seller. I believe only oneof the french allwins went home not meeting reserve. I think the airship catcher went for about £1200 and looked to have the original profit share payout inside unlike mine.
As usual these days I bought no machine, but did get a large set of fairground arches/lights.....will look good at xmas

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Five of these pictured I used to own before I swapped them for bandits. Me thinks I should have put them in the auction.

Thanks for the pictures and the prices, Bandito. It's always a treat to see current trends.

Last month's slot machine results now in the Arena.
As I was abroad during the sale, I've borrowed your pictures Bandito, and given you a year's free subs. to the Arena.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
The instructions for the nut warmers seem to have been on this 1901 slot machine also in the auction.

Guess it explains why kiddies were discouraged in arcades unless accompanied.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Looking at the results, it's the usual mix of cheap and expensive. The mechs look so cheap - a Jennings mech on 6d for £60! Well worth that for parts alone, same with Mills mechs for £45. I would have liked the Astor (are we sure Ascot and Astor are the same company?) About the right price (if it had the door and bonnet) but unusual with those reels. I wonder if it had a genuine Ascot mech, I have one and they are very well made. I also have a back door and bonnet, but from another model.

Sunday's auction results (with pictures) are now posted in the Arena, subject to revision (it's impossible to know sometimes when an item failed to reach its reserve).

Re: Elephant House Auctions
In the EH on the 20th
This item is described as having all original paint, yeah, right!
If this is the original paint, I will eat my hat!
Its the wrong shade for a start , these were a lighter orange colour
You can clearly see the wavy lines where the blue meets the red on the bottom casting.
This has clearly been repainted and not very well, for that matter.

Re the Futurity.
Where's that cage in front of the jackpot come from? It's certainly not original for Futurity. They were never made with the cage, looks like its been added. Agree with previous poster re colour... that does not look original!
Shame EH lacks Slots... Lets hope Coventry has a cure!!!!

Re: Elephant House Auctions
In fairness to the EH it states "retaining old paintwork which is nicely mellowed". It does not claim to be original. I know nothing about bandits by the way!
