Coventry Auction: Sunday 26th November 2017
Re: Coventry Auction: Sunday 26th November 2017
There is small annual contribution to the owner of this site for help cover its costs. A small price to pay me thinks.

Dont see why there has to be a private section ?
arent we all here or meant to be for the same thing ?

You will notice there is not a single advert on this site.
That costs money from the owner.
In order to rent the amount of memory needed to not only run the forum but also all of the other pages you have access to for free costs an inordinate amount each year.
The Arena takes a massive amount of extra memory to safeguard the valuable information it contains safely.
says i have to pay to view the arena ?
so it is in a locked and private area .........
No it is not in a private area you do not have to apply or be recommended by anyone in order to access it. You do however have to do one of two things to read it.
Either pay a miniscule £5 or contribute a worthy article to be awarded a year's free access.
Most members here appreciate the cost and effort entailed in keeping this site available to all, many of those who are awarded a free year's subscription still insist on contributing the money as well.
The choice is yours.
I am saddened by your , You have sought help many times over the years from this site and it's members yet clearly feel disgruntled that it's not all free?
Or have you confused me? (prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt)
If you feel so strongly that everything should be free please set up your own website for zero income and see if your point of view changes then.
And No! we aren't all here for the same thing, many of us are happy to contribute back into the hobby we love and not just take from it.
Happy days Mate ...... Happy days !!!!

You are clearly on a different wavelength to the majority of those who use Pennymachines.
I stand by what I said.

Sadly I have felt the need to lock this thread, as it has not only gone off topic, but the subject matter has become pointless.

Re: Coventry Auction: Sunday 26th November 2017
is £20 what i now need to spend to find out ? haha
thanks for the reply .
if bullseye went for £20 and the buyer frequents this forum id be happy to speak to them ..
might explain why my money tree help thread doesnt get much interest and help forthcoming as it doesnt tickle the members like a allwin or bryans would ..

Usually plenty of bandit help on the forum. Could be your Bally is a bit close to our preferred date limit for many of us to have had one. If we dont know it we can't help.
Re: Coventry Auction: Sunday 26th November 2017
I bought the Bally Bulls Eye, never owned one and I’m more of a mechanic than electrician, but for £20, couldn’t resist. Switched it on, it all lights up, pennies go in but handle won’t move. This is one for the future as I have enough mechanical machines to work on at the moment.
Re: Coventry Auction: Sunday 26th November 2017
I have a Bally Super Blue Star.
These Bally machines are neither fish nor fowl. They are either the last of the mechanical bandits, or the first of the Electros, depending on what you are interested in. (Typically, I'm involved with both!).
A sort of Muscovy Duck of the gaming world; sometimes more like a goose.

Re: Coventry Auction: Sunday 26th November 2017
I had a Bally. It was a lovely machine, working perfectly off the full copper 2np coin. For years I tried to get my eldest son to take ownership of it (he is in his thirties now and had been playing that machine for some 25 years). Finally, having bought his first house, he said 'yes'. Into the Landrover it went and twenty minutes later it was in his house and ready to play. Except that it wouldn't. I think the vibration on the journey killed it. Very sad. Still, definitely no takie-backsies!

Sorry for the very long delay, but the results are now up on our site:
http://www.vintageamusementsauctions.co ... 4590598868
I've also emailed then to Mr PM, so they will no doubt be available to view in the ARENA shortly.

I see the Golden Nugget didn't sell. Is the owner on here?
