And to think Dearly Beloved believes I'M out of control?? She needs to see THIS guy. Interesting to see a Bryans's Payramid, the early version, in there. He better hope no one lights up a cig in the drugstore...those perfumes would go up in a heartbeat!

The mechanical music museum in Sussex is a must if you are ever near Chichester, we went a few years ago, the sound of these coin op machines is just fantastic and beautiful.

happy new year everyone! glad to be back.

been off work for 8 weeks thanks to some pretty major surgery (long story) but the good/bad news is im going back to work tomorrow.

so, with it being my last day off, my fella has offered to drive me about to find something fun to do. so yeah, just wondering if anyone can recommend anywhere i can visit today - preferably something along the lines of the stuff on this thread! !PUZZLED!

ideally no further than about 2 hours drive from wigan!

i know its a last minute request but any help much appreciated!

Hi Lora :D
Happy New Year
Sorry to hear you have been unwell
If you want to play the machines, why not have a day at the Candle Workshops, it's not far from you in !THUMBS!
http://www.museumofamusements.co.uk/index.html
It also has Shops and a Cafe, so tell your feller to take lots of cash with him

ohhh yeah! i went there a couple of summers ago, it was great - though i've gotta say a little smaller than i imagined. but my imagination was bound to run away with me at the prospect of a 'museum' of amusements. i was probably expecting something as big as the v+a!

but yes, thats definately a serious possibility. particularly given as they cater to another big love of mine - joke novelties. AND the guy running the joint at the museum was from wigan - which blew my mind. i had no idea there was more than one of 'us' in wigan!

thankyou x

Horrendous though to think that the new gambling laws could hit such an arcade so badly that it would end up costing them to operate such machines. Then where will they live ?

I concur. Excellent camera work, Coin-op. All too many times, the panning is too quick. We got a good picture of Jerry's pride.
