Re: Skill Games

Post by pennymachines »

I restored this machine about 15 years ago (hence the "superb condition" !BOAST! ) and sold it to the vendor who put it in last Sunday's auction. Around the same time I bought the sister machine, Sky Divers. Both had remains of grey fleck paint on the wood (probably factory original) but I couldn't live with it and stripped them back to the pine. I've not seen another before or since, but curiously they both got back together for a few hours at the Coventry sale.

It seems there were at least four versions of this game - Beachcomber, Sky Divers, Penny Drop and Pools Scoop - see: Cromptons Wall Machine flyer

Hi Mark, if you go onto Youtube and type in the search box supershotbattymanbor you will get up all the videos, about 47 of them and all worth a look they are an excellent group of videos covering a lot of different machines. Many of them can be found here in this See it Operate section, although you do have to trawl through a lot of others as they are not all readily identifiable as from one source.
