Issue 42 Front Cover
Issue 42 Front Cover
The Front Cover of issue 42 displayed a postcard of Broadstairs jetty, I'd guess c.1900, give or take a few years. A number of cast iron machines are on view, the most prominent of which is a BAC/Simplex metal label stamper, and more central in the picture, an elaborate cast iron weighing machine. To the far right are three more machines (only two are on view, but trust me, there are definatly three). Who ever operated these machines, had them on many sites, and they were always the same three machines. Mounted on a central cast iron stand, the machines were: a Doughty & Barratt two-player racer in the centre, flanked by two Mathewson machines, usually a shooter and a gripper.

Re: Issue 42 Front Cover
Is there any way of enlarging this picture or enlarging certain parts of it so we can find the machines?

Try moving the cursor over the photo and clicking on it, and it should enlarge the photo for you,
