Restoration Plans?

Enter the Honourable Judge's favourite tavern for a dram of Tittle Tattle. There's an ancient bandit in the corner, but I forget his name...

Post by badpenny »

So what happened here a quarter of a century ago?
And when is it estimated they can get it running again?

If you two are referring to what I think you're referring to, then it was actually 27 years.

Scientists say that radiation will affect the Chernobyl area for 48,000 years although it will be safe enough for humans to begin repopulating the area long before then - in about 600 years.

I guess that Ferris Wheel will have rusted away by then?

We had a speaker in geography yesterday who fought the fires between reactor 3 and 4. To put it in perspective it is advised the maximum radiation doseage per year is 2 roentgen. He experienced radiation levels of 600 roentgen PER HOUR while fighting the fires. And the radiation was 400 times that of Hiroshima.
Then we went back to colouring in.
