Hey, Christmas come early. Jingle bells ............. get it? Okay, a joke is bad when you have to explain it.
Come on Jingles, share the news with your friends. Shame on you for not letting us know first. Having said that, who would want us scavengers turning up at their arcade? It could put you off your customers!
Apologies to Jingles if it is someone else.

Let's all go to Liverpool!
Great to see such a selection of interesting machines out in public again.
Well done jingle!
Here's the Liverpool Echo piece which includes a nice video: All the fun of the fair! Collector opens brand new old fashioned amusement arcade in Liverpool

Re: Liverpool vintage arcade
Here is a tip to the lot of u
Don't bring your misses to liverpool
The place is swarming with totty
Am getting a shave everyday now for work
Never done that in my life
No kettle jim
I buy a decaf coffee from the hole in the wall cafe
For 60 p. cheap as chips
Anyone who remembers liverpool from the 80 s
Is in for a shock
The place is a great place to visit now
See you all there
No bringing your own penny's
Got to pay my rent

Good luck Bob, I wish you well.
Just one suggestion, do something with those awful white walls. You need some colour - sign-written signs (don't bang the machines etc), pictures, posters etc. The bunting will look great outside, but it's not interior stuff.

Early days yet lad
I don't plan to stay here long
Am looking for the bigger picture
This is not going to make loads
It's to small and not enough machines
But it's a start for now
So the signs are the last thing in mind
The people I am getting in are not looking at the decor
There playing on the machines
I do have a big original sign with dont bang the machines on
But it hardly gettin noticed
It's hid by bunting

Re: Liverpool vintage arcade
oooo i like the look of that big wheel has anyone got a full picture of this or even a full on video if the inside workings ? plleeeeezzze
Re: Liverpool vintage arcade
Could someone translate the video for me? It is in some strange dialect unrecognisable to us southerners!
Seriously, 200 more machines. I am well going green though.
Congratulations on your venture Bob. I am sure it will be a tremendous success.
Another thought why not buy a pier to show all your machines.. A decent one mind and watch the people flock.

Re: Liverpool vintage arcade
It's a very simple machine, perhaps too simple? Not so difficult to make perhaps. Motor and gears are fixed directly onto the central carousel shaft. It makes almost no noise. There's a little piece cut out of the upper coin chute, just big enough to ensure half pennies drop onto the wrong side of the wheel.classicgambler wrote:oooo i like the look of that big wheel has anyone got a full picture of this or even a full on video if the inside workings ? plleeeeezzze

Re: Liverpool vintage arcade
The motor on that one is on the right side of the wheel Mr P.
Whereas the one you bought from the young lady in Coventry with the very large Rottweiler was fitted to the front.
Is it the same machine and you've corrected it, or is it just one of many you have?

Re: Liverpool vintage arcade
Far as I recall BP, this is the only one I ever had. You're right - I bought it via ebay from a lady in Coventry in 2008, about a week before another turned up in the Coventry auction. Maybe that one had a replaced motor? It seems I failed to photograph it.
The first one I saw belonged to a collector in Bewdley and he sold it for a pretty penny at Steve Hunt's first auction.
