just to close this topic out - earlier posts are correct, the woman who paid nearly £200 didn't realise it was a toy. I knew her from having sold her a full size vendor shortly before and she just got carried away with it. The luckiest person around of course is the underbidder who came so close to paying about 5 or 6 times the price of what something was worth! I notice a quick trawl today finds one person selling two different machines at £60 or £125 buy it now or another listing where you can take your chances on a 99p auction! For the record, I had a few of these machines last year and from memory got £65 for a nice one in a box, and I think £50 for another and £60 for another. But all sales were around the Christmas run up when full size cadbury vendors were going daft too!

'Build your own working Meccano slot machine'
If anyone wants a copy of this mag, the Meccano guys are selling it and many more for £3.95 postage inc. It's a lot cheaper than the US copy. !!IDEA!! !!IDEA!!

Their weblink is: http://www.hsomerville.com/mwmailorder/

I was going to scan my copy and put it in the Resources Section but it probably wouldn't go down too well with them. dirtdog

Come on then, get those No. 10 Sets out from under the bed and get cracking. I'll want to see photos in a weeks time.....

My kids have one of those toys and it actually works very well. Perhaps we should start a toy slot thread and build pics to it. I have a couple of toys to add, will fish them out later and add accordingly.

Here's a couple of loosely coin operated toy bits I found in my stash of tat. First one is Wheel of Fortune, a four player coin pusher. We used to substitute the plastic tokens for the new 1p when we played with the family and we each had to put a 5p coin on the star positions. I have two of these and still good fun to play. The second is a Peter Pan Playthings vending machine. I've seen the mini chocolate dispensing one many times, but never this one until I found it in a flea market, unused, mint in its box. It's on old penny. Packaged from factory with very non attractive bits of polystyrene in the tray compartments. The old penny goes in a slot on the top of the machine at the back. You have to time it well, pushing the coin in with one hand and pulling the tray with the other at the same time.
