Reality Check
Hello,
I thought I'd drop in and check the status of slot collecting in general.
It's not like the ol' days when myself, George, Jerry, Dave, and the usual gang would be there at every venue, swapping, selling, buying. We were like a team.
Lets look at what went wrong:
1) The number of slot machine collectors has not increased proportionally.
2) "People" in general don't seem to have as much spare cash.
3) Most collectors by now have the machines they wanted.
4) Genuine "basket cases" (restorable slots found "as is") are rare.
5) We (or certainly I) don't seem to get offered machines from friends of friends any more (or was I just lucky?).
5) The desire for 1970s+ machines is not the same as for those from the electro-mechanical era (maybe because most of them were huge).
Nice to see the website is still going strong. Not too sure about the political comments though - there's a time and place if you know what I mean.
Take care all.XX

Reality Check
Hi and welcome back!
I could add a couple more to your list:
"People" in general don't have as much space and are more averse to "clutter".
Those 1970s+ machines are ugly and awkward to maintain.
On your other point I would agree - in normal circumstances. But as chief ally to a criminal regime that stole two elections to prosecute a war of global domination, we don't live in normal circumstances. Watching our complacent media, you could be forgiven for not noticing that our governments are plunging the world into political instability unequalled since World War II. Therefore this is the time and the internet seems to be the only place.
The time and place
Documented crimes
Ludicrous Diversions
London bombings - unanswered questions

Good points ....
and I would also like to add ...
That the younger generation, teens to 30s, are not interested in slot machines ... unless you can play them on an internet web site....
In my engineering industry (hi speed packaging ) it's getting harder and harder to find young people that want to come into the industry and get their hands dirty. Most want to come in as autoCAD designers and sit at PCs.
All the best... Dickywink.
