Merchandiser transport

Help please. Does anybody know if a rotary merchandiser would transport okay if laid on its side.

Although 2 are ahrens 4 siders and beautiful pieces
Of machinery ,how can these single siders be cheaper than allwins

And it's not as if you can't get it in the house
There only about 700 mm wide so should fit through most doors

I thought I would just post an update on the problems I have faced with this transaction.
My first attempt at contact with this eBay seller was via an e mail asking for the dimensions of the machine. After waiting a few days and receiving no reply I then sent another e mail and received a reply giving me his phone number but still no measurements. A phone call was then made to arrange collection and make a payment. I still needed to know the size of the item so that I could sort out what type of transport would be required. I was told it was 30" x 30" but for some strange reason would not tell me the height. He then said rather harshly 'you do realise you've got a real bargain here' which I found rather strange. I said I would phone him back to arrange collection. After a quick search on the internet I soon had the height of 44".
I then arranged to hire a van. Another phone call was made and all was going okay until I asked if he could help with the loading. I was told that in no way was anybody available to give me a hand, it would be totally impossible. He then said it would take at least four people as it had to be lifted up in the air and taken through a window. I then said that this had threw a different light on things but before I could say I would have to make more arrangements I was told 'we'll that's that then' and he hung up on me.
In conclusion I personally think he hadn't any intention of letting it go at that price and he was being as awkward as possible. Surely if you are selling something to someone with cash in hand you would go out of your way to help them.

I've been to the location and seen the machine you won. It would indeed be very difficult to negotiate its way safely through and out the front door.

I was looking at the Ten Strike and had done a deal to purchase it providing it was working correctly, scoring etc. Unfortunately it wasn't.

The chap had/has a large collection of coin op of every shape and size and he informed me that he had sold a great deal prior to advertising bits on eBay.

His partner was lovely. She was very helpful and tried hard to get sufficient light into a very dark room so that I could see the machine and then tried hard to get it working correctly.

Am I right in saying Ninecup's Merchandiser since appeared on Ebay for £325 with no bids and then again and sold for £411?

Seller's feedback has a very worrying negative about a wasted journey by winning bidder who got there only to find out his machines had been sold to someone else at a more attractive price.

I am not quite sure what is going on with this seller. I have had many transactions with no problems at all. This I must say was a bit strange.

Well visited them today, had no issues and just the tail end of machines left as most have gone. I can see the issue in getting big machines in and out and there are some big ones there that would need to be broken....must have had a hell of a collection before most were sold off.....

my thoughts exactly treefrog, I was also there today and can now see the problem with the merchandiser, thankfully my purchases were much smaller both in size and cost to the cranes and R&W kit they've got left. Jane told me they had sold around 100 machines to a guy with a caravan park and arcade in either Skegness or Scarborough prior to even thinking about ebay.

I had the misfortune of dealing with this dubious ebay couple. I spent almost 3 hours at their house looking at their large collection of machines and talking about what was for sale. They were hard work in that they couldnt decide and inspecting what I was interested in in detail as they said machines "were fully working" when they really meant they 'WERE' fully working (a long time ago) but some no longer.

Having finally negotiated a price for several machines we shook hands on the deal and I paid a proper deposit and got an itemised receipt and arranged to return 4 days later with a hire van of suitable size.
I collected the van from Salford Van Hire and phoned them on the day en route to confirm my time of arrival, then the excuses started, they said certain machines werent working anymore I guess expecting me to say ok I wont have that one then, then they said "we have really bad news and we wont blame you if you decide not to take any of the machines", when I questioned this they said they had let two of the machines go to someone else.
Obviously having left a sizeable cash deposit with them and having paid up front for the hire van I decided to continue to drive down to Leicester ( from Leeds). I was furious. When I arrived they had sold the 2 best machines in the group and argued that somehow it was my fault in me not having offered them enough. Of course in taking a job lot of machines some a lot better than others and taking the bad with the good its easy for others to come along afterwards cherry pick and pay more for the good ones and leave the others. The whole friendliness of this couple was gone the second time from what I can see theyre happy when getting their own way but in my book once you shake on a deal you stick to it

I'm trying to follow this whilst listening to only the experiences of the buyers.
The behaviour of the vendors seems less than honourable.

If you openly advertise something for sale, take deposits and then back out of it for a better offer, to me it indicates greed and a lack of concern for your teeth (allowing for some of the people I know).

Then I read a mention of eBay being involved, so it suddenly becomes clearer. Complain to eBay and get these people dealt with. You can even go to court, others have with a modicum of success.

However, if it was on eBay and a deal entered into outside of it then .... It becomes difficult to level who is being greedy when agreements have been broken right left and centre.

We are talking about deals outside ebay I suspect. If it gets to a deposit stage then that obviously is wrong. Of course if you had a receipt, you still have rights by the way if you chose to take it. Of course thisthe raises the next challenge, if any of these machines come under the Gambling Commission, would you want to go to a small claims court?

I would say, turn up with right vehicle, always bring lots of cash and have the ability to move the stuff (people/barrows) and you can't go wrong. Once on the back of the van, deal done.... I always bring all these to all collections in case something else turns up

It can be a nightmare experience for some and no issues for others when dealing with the same seller. So obviously the no issues buyer sees the seller as a solid seller and may of course vouch for the seller to others personally or via a forum or other social network. I have heard from more than one potential buyer where the machine has been described as fully working when upon collection it has been found that it or they, are obviously not.

I dont think I have seen such a varied collection of machines become available from one source, bearing in mind I have heard the same information that they sold a large number of machines prior to starting to offer machines via ebay. Must have been some collection. I think that that kind of collection would have been ideal for an auction house to remove and offer for sale and remove the seller from the issues of machines fully working or not. It would have been a great opportunity for everyone to have seen and had an opportunity to bid on such a great range of machines. It would have been interesting to see how people would have bid in auction style on them too.

I am sure that the people who did a deal and actually got their machines will be very happy and I do feel for those who almost got them but didn't due to a lack of transparency from the seller.
