Re: Parkers of Rhyl
When I started off with my slotty hobby a couple of years ago, I was very interested in bandits mainly. As I've started to mature with the hobby and gain confidence in what I'm doing I've found the courage to break into other avenues of collecting such as German wall machines. Looking at your lovely machines I have made the decision to start saving for next winter to buy something like you are showing in the photos. I really like the woodwork of the cabinets and the fascia artwork is beautiful...so, I'm sold to the idea.... another bandit will be going off for sale to make way for one of these. Fantastic find, I bet you are really chuffed... Did it break the bank or was it one of those sweet I'm in a dream deal?
Re: Parkers of Rhyl
They came in a lot. They were not cheap but these Parkers are not cheap, are they?
They're known as very reliable machines so that's in my mind when I make offers.
I am also looking for any ideas about how to keep the veneer on as these have been dry stored and every time you touch them bits flick off.
Thinking of re-varnishing them or has anyone else got an idea?

I can point you in the right direction of someone who can restore these cabinets but that would be expensive.
If you really don't want them, my church would love them for their fete. If you are looking to reap rewards from their sale, then auctioning them off would be a great idea.
Whatever you decide to do, all the best!

Re: Parkers of Rhyl
I see that Arles, the original poster on this thread, just put his two Parkers allwins in the Pennymachines Auction. They look like an excellent couple of machines - I've placed an opening bid on the Carnival myself.
Jingle has also kindly sent me another picture of his Parkers machines. Let's make this a Parkers allwin catalogue along the lines of the Wonders list.

Re: Parkers of Rhyl
Did anyone see BBC 2 London region TV tonight: Hidden Houses of Wales by Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen?
He visited a house in Wales called Trevor Hall - it's owned by a relation of the Parker family and the program shows a clip in black and white of the arcade in Rhyl and also some machines owned by the family in their house.

Good catch. Curious that Louise thinks the Bimbo Box was a Parker's machine.

PM you didn't win this at the Tennants Auction in North Yorkshire on Friday as the £280 price seemed very reasonable.

Yes, I bought the beauty. With Premium (including VAT) it came to £329.35. Now I have to drive about 160 miles to collect, but still a bargain, I think.

Re: Parkers Eleven Wins
The two from Sunday's auction.
Big Top in good condition, 12 Winners not so good.

Re: Parkers allwins
Asking on this thread as there is already an image here but can't make out the payouts. I know it would be fairly easy to figure out but there is also a gate (arrowed) which I imagine would remove the top payout from the equation, or even top and middle, so operator changeable? Does anyone own one who can help with payouts?

Re: Parkers allwins
The Lucky Twelve is, of course, by Oliver Whales and appears on page one of this thread because it was being sold together with two Parkers.
The answer to your question can be gleaned from this thread: Allwin payout slide mechanism.
The payouts are displayed on the long wooden tablet above the gallery (Bryans style) and set by rotating the tablet, adjusting the gates and changing the slides. The most generous scheme is 6,4,4,4,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2. The same set-up with a one penny slide gives a 3,2,2,2,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1 scheme.
Here's the Parkers version of the game in an oak case similar in style to Oliver Whales:

Hi,
Parkers 24 cups - are these rare machines - never seen one for sale so wondering how many were actually made by Parkers? Anyone?
