Apologies to revert to the original question, but would these have been during the war or before, as I had read on here that BMco did not survive after the war and were taken over by OW?

Apart from Melright's site, is there any historical reference to the history of the company and what seems a huge range of machines?

Interesting, a few people have been concerned about the concentration of topics based on bandits on the site, but Allwin questions seem not to gain much interest in terms of responses, of course I swing both ways these days...... '!'

You're right T-F, it is leaning towards bandits BUT others could redress the balance by making the effort....and posting!!

My understanding is not so much that O. Whales took over BMCo but that they bought a quantity of stock from BMCo around the time of its closure. Apart from M.Wright's site there is some information on BMCo in Paul Braithwait's book 'Arcades and slot machines' available from the library on this site-probably cheaper than elsewhere and a jolly good read.

Thought I would show the Fleet Air Arm in motion, a very brief video after discussing the same with fellow collectors at the Elephant Auction. That bell is a hell of a lot louder that the video suggests and boy with a metal back and lots of bare 240v around a little worrying. My machine has earth wires on every bit of metal, so should hopefully prevent an accident..It has also been suggested the yellow paint if probably original factory application, it is under everything, so doubt this was applied later.....

Here you go, no idea why the link has broken

Sadly I do not have the machine now :#: I wonder if I will regret giving it up, but it has gone to a good home

A collector kindly lent me his Fleet Air Arm top casting (from the machine formerly owned by Treefrog) so that I could complete mine. Instead of recasting from it, I made up a new pattern.
This collector also wanted some Bomber Command top castings, which I'd assumed were the same with different letters. In fact it's quite different. Anyway, I made a pattern for this too, so if anyone needs either of these, I now have a few available. See Archive/Spares

Most clever, Mr. PM. You're giving that sly fox in Australia a run for his money. !THUMBS!

Yeah, about time someone knocked that Bob Klepner down a peg!

I have to say that mr PM is truly a king amongst collectors. The way he's managed to pull off the impossible and find the matching wood grained pair of these two machines is truly staggering!?!? :o !PUZZLED! !OMFG!

Hey, great casting by the way PM! I'll see if the friend that purchased my Fleet Air wants one. Though from memory there wasn't any holes on the top of that machine?

I took a leaf out of your book and carefully hand painted the grain to match. ;-)

The satisfied recipient of two top castings kindly sent me these images of his fine pair of completed Bomber Commands. It's interesting to note the minor differences between the hand painted backflashes.

I'm curious now to see a D Day complete with top sign, if such a thing exists.

And here is the Fleet Air Arm which was previously painted yellow (with original top casting). Its predominantly blue sea battle scene is quite different from the predominantly green one on the other Fleet Air Arm example above.
