Thats just what I was thinking, does Steve realize its Fathers Day?
I would love to bid on the Mills Futurity but not willing to chance it without viewing and Fathers day means Family get together for me otherwise I would have been there!

There were a lot of commission bids for this reason me thinks,

Not many machines, but still quite a few people turned up, very odd prices as some tat went for silly money and some machines I thought were cheap, eg the same War Eagle advertised on here went for about £500, whereas a not so good below par Hi Top went for £600...I think I bid on my lowest amount at these auctions and spent less than £30... The futurity went for around £2800 inc comm. Looked very original, certainly the paint did, but never tried it.

As TF says, some ups and downs on what you may perceive as general pricing for some models versus others, but that's auctions for you I suppose.

The article copy does state the speedway artwork sold for £1500, they have just attributed the wrong price label to the picture of it.

I assume the Merchandiser didn't work as it wasn't turned on or out and it would need re-casing as the woodworm even had to take a packed lunch to work now it was that bad.

It was the same machine that sold for £100 at Reeman Dansie in March. The fellow who bought it wanted the Ahrens gift vend castings, but I think the machine wasn't beyond redemption.

Unfortunately, the War Eagle had extensive makeshift repairs to the upper casting.

Did anyone on the site buy the Silver Palace in the console? It would be nice to see some more pictures as I couldn't get to the auction. I know the top piece was missing (its turret?) and it had a Mills, not a Silver Palace name trim, but a nice looking slot. I am not a fan of the large consoles. A lot of the ones I have seen have the actual slot cabinet cut down, Was this standard, as they came out of the factory, e.g. they used different cabinets or standard but cut to fit?

Finally, I heard a number of stories regarding the Silver Palace slots, mostly contradictory (as usual for slot history), be it would be nice to get a definitive history on what is real and what is repro., e.g. do the castings (repro) fit a standard Mills Hi-top cabinet or not? Were all the originals only made on a dollar coin and never used?

Hopefully someone can enlighten?
It would be nice to see pictures anyway. I would be happy to just get a set of castings to make a machine up!

Wonder why they have not posted on this site Anyway, I quite liked it when it was brown wrinkle paint, as per a thread from 3 odd years ago on here by Terry...

I know nothing about the Silver Palace, but looking at the two posts they both have the same "World" decal on the sides. This reminds me of the other manufacturer in the US who also produced Hi Tops and Mills mechanisms, Las Vegas Coin Machines Co, may explain why the castings have no stamps...........

Thanks for the links Nigel. I do usually search this and the coinop collector forums but just quickly posted this on the elephant thread. Maybe he posted on the US forum as maybe more likely to get more people with knowledge of real v repro Silver Palace, as more machines and more owners there. I'm sure the new owner is very pleased with their new acquisition. It would be nice to know and / or see any other examples located out of the US.
