The Silver Palace came out in 1960 (whoever made it) and, for my money, is not a nice looking machine. The jackpot window is the most interesting part, shaped like a doorway and has a drawbridge as part of the casting.

Nice machine but appears to be missing the correct rear bonnet - it should have a crenellated top to the bonnet that kind of overhangs the front casing.

E H Auctions in August

Post by bryans fan »

Topic merged - Site Admin.

I am surprised to see there are 2 Vintage Amusement auction scheduled for August - one on the 2nd and one on the 23rd. Steve seems to be pushing himself too far. The catalogues will surely be last minute, and I certainly haven't the time or money to attend both.

People are cashing in on the 'good times'. I think allwins/slots are selling for crazy prices at the moment. Good if you're selling; not so if you want to expand a bit. !!VIOLIN!!

This hobby has become too rich for me and I have stopped buying. Haven't stopped 'wanting', however! :dammit:

I see on September the 6th is the John Hayward collection. Is he a private collector or did he have a public arcade? !PUZZLED!
Can we expect some nice machines? !PUZZLED!

I'll answer for you. I actually have no idea although I am told we are in for two very large auctions. Any more takers? :!?!:

John Hayword, also known as the Mutoscope Man was one of the founder members of the National Slot Machine Museum of Great Briton , which is now the arcade that our very own Jerry runs in Brighton.. **xXx**

He had 5 years ago. He was getting out of it
And called me to see if I wanted some machines as it was
All he had left except a working model and some repro allwins

Gameswat, sorry got distracted and lost track after is went over £2k....was a nice little collection of machines from the same seller. I believe only oneof the french allwins went home not meeting reserve. I think the airship catcher went for about £1200 and looked to have the original profit share payout inside unlike mine.

As usual these days I bought no machine, but did get a large set of fairground arches/lights.....will look good at xmas

The instructions for the nut warmers seem to have been on this 1901 slot machine also in the auction.
