Re: Elephant House Auctions
Guess it explains why kiddies were discouraged in arcades unless accompanied.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Looking at the results, it's the usual mix of cheap and expensive. The mechs look so cheap - a Jennings mech on 6d for £60! Well worth that for parts alone, same with Mills mechs for £45. I would have liked the Astor (are we sure Ascot and Astor are the same company?) About the right price (if it had the door and bonnet) but unusual with those reels. I wonder if it had a genuine Ascot mech, I have one and they are very well made. I also have a back door and bonnet, but from another model.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Sunday's auction results (with pictures) are now posted in the Arena, subject to revision (it's impossible to know sometimes when an item failed to reach its reserve).

Re: Elephant House Auctions
In the EH on the 20th
This item is described as having all original paint, yeah, right!
If this is the original paint, I will eat my hat!
Its the wrong shade for a start , these were a lighter orange colour
You can clearly see the wavy lines where the blue meets the red on the bottom casting.
This has clearly been repainted and not very well, for that matter.

Re the Futurity.
Where's that cage in front of the jackpot come from? It's certainly not original for Futurity. They were never made with the cage, looks like its been added. Agree with previous poster re colour... that does not look original!
Shame EH lacks Slots... Lets hope Coventry has a cure!!!!

Re: Elephant House Auctions
In fairness to the EH it states "retaining old paintwork which is nicely mellowed". It does not claim to be original. I know nothing about bandits by the way!

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Fair Point, Bryans Fan, should have understood what EH meant as they never used the word "original"

Re: Elephant House Auctions
Looks like the Jennings Sweepstake, ex Gibraltar casino machine may be on the move again, as it's listed on ebayUS: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131604687155#shpCntId.
I am sure my local post office would be thrilled trying to push that through their small letter/bigletter/smallparcel perspex gauge.... 'sorry it's just over!'

Re: Elephant House Auctions
I've seen this one in the flesh, the vendor is well known and a member of this forum.
Certainly a cracking piece of kit.

Re: Elephant House Auctions
I've got to agree with Badpenny a very nice machine. I saw it go for £3000 plus commission at the Elephant House last year. Tried the link to EBay but it has been removed. I wonder if it is still for sale? If it is still in this country I would be interested.
