Q about Flash
Sorry to bother you Mr Pennymachines, but for a few weeks now I've been seeing this kind of thing when I log in to your site - the flash player crashes. Not immediately, the images do load and display, but then after a second, probably the first tick of the clock, it crashes. I'm wondering if I'm the only one and the problem is at my end? I've never seen it on any other site.

Re: Q about Flash
I have this problem with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" tablet and I still have it.
The home page flashes up ok but directly I touch the forum tab the forum page flashes up for a split second and then disappears to leave just an empty beige page. It only seems to be the forum page that is effected the other shortcuts on the side bar seem ok.
I presume that the program necessary to display the forum page is not installed on the tablet; any help would be most gratefully received.

Re: Q about Flash
Actually, it resolved itself without my intervention.Operator Bell wrote:Whatever you did, Mr P, that fixed it! Thanks!
I'm aware of the problem - it was persistent for a while on Chromium/Linux operating system and I've seen it on Firefox/Windows Vista. The Flash Player seems to be thrown by some interaction between two or three of the Flash components on the Forum page.
Some suggestions from Adobe here, in particular disabling hardware acceleration.
Long term I hope to resolve by converting site navigation to pure CSS.

It provides a mobile-friendly version.
The Switch to mobile style link is near the bottom of this page, but you wouldn't have seen it if your Samsung won't show the page!

Adobe Flash plugin has crashed
Topic merged - Site Admin.
I've tried reloading the page, I've also deleted Flash Player and reinstalled it.
So is the Plug In at my end, or is it something to do with the website? Anybody else getting it?
I'm not getting this problem anywhere else.

Hi BP,
Oh dear, that dratted Flash plugin.
Sometimes the Flash navigation seems to cause problems with the other Flash elements on the page.
What OS and browser?
A temporary fix until I build something better - you could try clicking on this link and disabling the Flash navigation: [xurl=flash-toggle.htm]Flash-Toggle[/url].

Striped socks are not compatible with this site on Mondays.
OK, I'm giving the new non-Flash navigation a spin. Still working on the mobile phone bit, but if you have such a thing, or squeeze your browser down to matchbox size, you can see it.
Feedback welcome.
