Re: Crompton Shooters flyer
Hi all, I like the flyer for the Crompton shooters, This is a pic of a Shoot Dem Bones machine taken from the opening titles of a 1972 TV sitcom called the Fenn Street Gang, it is being used by actor David Barry (who played Frankie Abbott) I know it is sad that I should know this, but I hope you like it anyway.PennyMachines wrote:Alfred Crompton Ltd. Re: Crompton Shooters flyer
That's a great flyer. Interesting to note that Cromptons boast of five machines, although only four are pictured (the fifth is of course Duck Shoot), which makes me wonder whether part of the flyer is missing?
I Have a Cheyenne Shoot and a Duck Shoot, and many years ago also had a Shoot Dem Bones. They're great machines, and must have been produced in fairly large numbers, as they're not particularly rare.
As for Frankie Abbott, I remember him - Mummy's little soldier. The Fenn Street Gang was the off-shoot sitcom of Please Sir. Was it really that long ago?
