Missing allwin vending mechanisms

Post by bob »

A friend of mine has an Oliver Whales Selecta Cigarette machine which gives one, two or three single cigarettes as prizes. It is missing the single cigarette delivery system and chute that held the cigarettes. the rest of the payout mechanism is there. Can anyone help with a photo of this mechanism on this or a similar machine?

Hi Bob :D , You say that all the payout mech is there, I can see from the photo that 2 ball release levers are missing from the payout arm, do you have these :?: they are the bits that make the machine payout 1 -2 or 3 cigarettes by letting you turn the payout knob 1 - 2 or 3 times  .
I can not find a good photo of a cigarette machine so I have posted a photo of a win a polo as it works on the same lines, I have also done a drawing for you, I hope you will be able to work it out from this, good luck... :tarah:

Unlike the Selecta Cig, this mechanism (possibly O.W.) pays out automatically when the winning ball pushes the paddle on the right linked via a wire to the cigarette dispenser. I'm not sure whether your hand cranked payout needs slotalot's ratchet and cog, but these pictures give an idea of how the cig dispensing bit might look.

Thanks to slotalot and Pennymachines for their help and all the trouble they have gone to. I had not thought of a revolving drum as a solution. I was aware of the two missing levers and wire linkage as I used to have a Supa Selecta with a similar 123 mechanism with the two extra links missing and had solved that problem then.
Thanks again for your interest and help.
Regards,
Bob

Hi Bob, I notice from your first set of pics that this machine looks as if it was originally a coin payout machine as there are pieces of wood blanking what was the payout coin delivery chute system. I am wondering if this machine has been converted in its past life from ordinary allwin to a cig machine with an Oliver Whales backflash added ? Can't put my finger on it, but I wonder if it is an O.W. mechanism or if the case/door is original.

In Slotalots pics, which is one of my machines, the sweetie delivery is obviously quite different. If you would like some close up pics of the mechanism let me know and I will email them to you.

Can I get parts for 4-sided allwin?

Post by scottie »

Topic merged - Site Admin.

Hello everyone,
I'm looking at what I think is called a Square 4. It is missing the payout parts on all the machine so when you win you will not receive your gum, cig. or candy bar.
My question is, can I get these parts or do I have to get them made?

By-the-way, if anyone out there has the parts I need, please let me know,
Thanks,
scottie.

Hi Scottie, there was guy who made a few of these parts for Bryans machines a while back, but I think he sold out of what he had and isn't planning to make any more. They are not really available, so you would have to fabricate them. Do you know what maker the four square is, should be able to deduct this from the games in the machine.

Hi Coin-op,
Yes the machine was made by O.Whales Redcar company....
I think I will need the sliding part that moves the gun/choc bar/cig into the payout bowl.
I figured I would ask here first, but I'm sure they wouldn't be too hard to make or have made.
I do have a WIN-A-GIFT... so I can copy the parts I need for the candy bar one.
I also own a WIN-A-SPANGLES so I can copy that one for the WIN-A-CHEW.
The only one I'm not too sure about is the WIN-A-CIG but I'm sure it is similar, just a different shape and size.
Thanks,
scottie.

Hi scottie :D
I was sure we had been on this topic before !PUZZLED!
I have just looked back to Oct 2008, and found this info which will give you some food for thought over the cig payout !THUMBS!

Thanks slotalot.... that was really helpful.
Looks like the delivery system for the cig is a bit more work to make to say the least....
I think the deliver system for the WIN-A-CHEW and the other one would be a lot easier to make,
scottie.

Hi scottie :D
Here are some photos of a typical sweet payout system, most of Oliver Whales sweetie machine are like this !PUZZLED!
Note the slot in the end of the sweet payout slide, this is to let the penny through when the slide is at rest,
also note that the payout knob only turns about a quarter turn then back again, and not a full turn as with a cash payout machine,
I hope this is of help !THUMBS!

Information on WIN-A-CIG part

Post by scottie »

Topic merged - Site Admin.

Hello,
I am restoring an Oliver Whales WIN-A-CIG. I need to have some of the "payout" parts made. The parts that hold the cigs and all the parts that move and deliver the cig to the winning player.
My question is, how long and how wide is the cylinder-shaped part that moves the cig from the holder and dumps it into the tin chute?
Thanks,
Scottie.

win-a-cig payout question

Post by scottie »

Do the cigs just sit on a metal plate that has a slot cut out of it?
When the knob is turned, another plate is moved exposing more of the metal plate that has a slot cut out of it and the cigs fall into the chute and out the front of the machine.

Looks a lot easier than making a solid metal tube with a groove machined out of it to hold the cigs... no gears and less parts to make.
Any comments????
Scottie.
