After reading your post and running down stairs, looking at the machine, I now understand what needs to be done.
Thank you so much Treefrog,

This nice looking example on ebay of the electric payout Flash Win went unsold, no bids at £375 reserve.

Came across this thread when trying to identify an Allwin`s guest appearance in a 1973 episode of Last of the Summer Wine. To my inexperienced eye it looks identical to the Double Your Money machine previously posted. The one in "The Star Inn" had a neutral patterned top flash but an identical play flash, separate controls and a replacement cash door. Pity that it seems no definitive manufacturer can be accredited.

I am sure some you you saw this at auction in Wales with a bunch of other machines. I by coincidence happened to be in a nearby town and popped into the auction and came away with the below Plentywin, unloved as were the other machines someone I understand was selling from a clearance. It has cleaned up well, but main not of difference is the lower cabinet with the non flush base almost Parker’s by design. Not seen another like this and the base is original.....

I am hoping to get one of each of these, two more to go !!THUMBSX2!! That I know of that is

Strangely, there's another of these at Eastbourne auctions this month, albeit incomplete.

!WHOOPS! I used to groan when you did that. !SORRY!
It will be very cheap because it's very incomplete... :woops:

I only wanted the case as you say nearly all the internals have gone or been replaced with dodgy parts

About a month ago, a modern looking flasher sold on eBay which at the time I thought looked like the basis of an older machine and when reviewing again think this was by the same manufacturer as the machines in this thread. The Love Machine although full of modern parts has similar lamps to the Cyclone, case shape to other allwins and same Bryan’s style hinges. Was very cheap at £100 as well

I looked at that at the time. If I'd read this thread earlier, I'd have bid. I think the 'module' providing 'retro sounds' (?) put me off.
I have a Jackpot, with the distinctive control panel casting. In the light of what we now know, can we safely credit it to Philip Shefras?

I think so, for the reasons outlined on page 7-8 of this thread.
This little image from the Cash Box trade paper February 20, 1960 shows Philip Shefras (left) at his Philip Shefras (Sales) Ltd. ATE stand. There are two allwins behind. To my eyes, the one on the left appears to have the distinctive bowed top frame above the playfield.

This Jackpot allwin (has it appeared on the Forum before?) is the first of these games I've seen which actually sports the Philip Shefras badge. As it says "supplied by", not "manufactured by", it leaves the question open as to whether P Shefras had them manufactured by another company (just as R&W did with their allwins).

Jackpot!

Post by geofflove »

Topic moved & merged - Site Admin.

I just picked this up from a lovely gent yesterday. Turns out he lives just around the corner from me.

Not had one of these before and love the jackpot mech - simple but clever.

This one has “Parker’s 1954” hand written on the back and in the corner of the top flash but looking at the extensive thread elsewhere on this machine I’m not convinced this is accurate. I suspect a previous owner wrote it in after some research.

Nice machine though.

Yes lovely, still have my one which is a keeper !!THUMBSX2!!

Parker's may be a red herring as they also were a distributor. I recently sold a Beromat with Parker stamps all over the inside.

It's Philip Shefras. There is a ton of information about this game in posting on the Forum.

something that always strikes me with this machine, the top glass either varies to a large degree or is missing altogether. Clearly, the top glass on this one is a poor copy, and that is not unusual with these. I wonder if they were supplied with an option to use your own top glass? I've seen several with arcade-named top glasses. There is one style that comes up more often than others so perhaps this was the company-produced one (pictured below)? I've made a couple of these for customers and I use this one which seems to suit the machine very well.

Yes. The top flash is something I want to sort. Just need to find an appropriate graphic to use or do my own.
