Has anyone heard of an Allwin called "The Success" ?

Hello and welcome. Without pictures difficult to be sure, but searching the site, a little French Allwin matches the name......

Yes, that looks like the one. Has it any value in need of restoration without a back panel?
I have the opportunity to acquire one and it would be my first restoration project.
Any advice welcome Tia

Looks a nice honest machine, but if you're able to, worth getting to see it and try it. Also check insides. If you can’t, ask for pictures of inside... By the way, worth downloading a picture clip tool so you don’t share where you're looking at, although most of us have seen this one auction site anyway....

Ah - looked at the site and can see the back. I think it looks OK, but someone else will confirm....

At the top it looks like a light bulb is fitted.... I wonder if this was originally triggered in a win Unless my eyes are playing up, I can see no other wiring.


Edited, as looking at a thread many years ago, Daveslot mentioned that something moved in the little window on a win... On closer inspection it is a Crowing cock. I think from the shape, and of course the machine name, it must be a wire or something to trigger it. Re: Coin-ops at Harrods

There are 3 different versions - the most interesting one has a little air system that reproduces a rooster when won.

I've never seen it, but presumably the "cocorico" was accompanied by the rooster moving in the little window.

Value wise - yes, all old slot machines have a value, whatever their condition, often more than the uninitiated would imagine. The problem is determining what value. Early wall machines are particularly unpredictable as many collectors seem to have moved onto the later stuff. Trawling through results in the Arena, lot 832 (left image) made £560 plus commission at the Elephant House Auction on the 26th February 2017, whilst lot 2389 (right image) only made £280 plus commission at Tennants on the7th June the same year.
