New Zealand spinners

Post by jb3d »

We are on holiday in New Zealand (what a beautiful country.) I’ve been surprised to see a number of ‘Allwin’ type coin operated spinners still in use in cafes and restaurants. Does anyone know about these machines? Photos attached.

Hello and welcome,

Wish I was on holiday in New Zealand, the one country I will visit before I die. :!?!:

There are a few topics on Australian and Newzealand machines and the top two have been discussed in below threads, both New Zealand made machines:

The Quiko appears to have been made by Roto Productions as below and not common, looks like someone set fire to it. :!:

Thank you. As always the depth and detail of information to be found here is remarkable. My only regret is that I wasn’t able to play the Quicko Wins machine. It was situated immediately behind one of the chairs in a restaurant. So close in fact that the lady sat there eating her dinner was almost using it as a headrest. She kindly agreed to move so that I could photograph the machine but as her meal was getting cold I didn’t feel I could stand around playing it.

I think 'saving kiwi' is a craftily redressed and recased modern (Nostalgic Machines) 9 Cup allwin.
