What can you tell me about this Jokerboul?

Post by pedroofn19 »

As the title says, what can anyone tell me about this Jokerboul machine? I know it's French, 1936, made by Courson. I can't find much about the maker, except that he only made two machines.
How is it played? How many balls should it have? What is the approximate value?
Thanks guys.

Hello,
The real name of the creator of this machine is Courtot and not Courson.
Here's the French patent of your machine, hope that can help you but this document is..... in French (hope you have no allergy!).

After the patent, the rules of the game in....... French.
You win if the marbles are placed, as explained in the rules (the joker card replaces any other card).

It says Courson on the plate, on the side of the machine. Is that not the maker then?
Any other info I can find says it is made by Courson.

Hello, I think that Courson is the company that had the exploitation of the machine (not the manufacturer or the creator) : the machine was let in the pub / bar / bistrot and Courson take a % of the gain, he repaired, etc.
You can read "propriété insaisissable" that mean if the bistrot close or in justice, Courson can retake his machine.
We have lot of case where on the machine there are a name that doesn't link to the manufacturer or creator.
Hope my explanation in English.was clear?

Greetings,

One of these sold in the summer in the U.K. for £250. I had a look as the auction house never included internal pictures. Maybe the buyer will share, if on here.

Someone else had info., as discussed on the below link*, and shared a pdf of the design, which does show internals, if not very clear.

Thank you for your answer,
I have downloaded the patent, it's in French, and I'll try to translate. I understand the poker game, but I wanna know all about the mechanism. There are 3 weights in my machine that I can't find in the patent. How are they fixed, how to put the great token into the machine, and so on... Perhaps someone has a Photo.
Thank you and have a nice weekend.

Sorry, the coin acceptor and coin tube are, of course, adapted to smaller coins...
