Thanks for the advice clubconsoles but sadly I did go down that route before applying for a permit and within 3 days eBay not only pulled the item off but threatened me that if I did it again my account would be suspended :tut . Within the time it was listed it had over 30 views and I had an offer of £700 but as it is a Pilwin 56 with all the "accessories", plus new penny/old penny options and in great condition and working order I wanted to test the water by putting it on as an auction item rather than buy it now so I declined.

Maybe the wrong decision but my feeling was that with all the lock downs etc., and with Christmas coming, there could be quite a few people stuck at home and interested in a toy for their batcave or a present for a loved one to keep them occupied :HaHa: .

May be time to follow your suggestion of facebook if I don't get the permit soon but as I had to pay up front I'm reluctant to lose my £25!!

yes i understand what you are saying. i decided in the best interest of this forum and all the collectors out there to send my advice as a private message. You have to do what you feel is right for you.
Good luck with the permit!

I have heard of many bandits being pulled off eBay - but an Allwin !!! :!?!:
There are over a couple of dozen on there at the moment including two Pilwins ??

Have you upset someone recently Brian? I do recall a few years back quite a debate on this forum about the issue of slots being pulled and the only way eBay was aware of the machines was via someone complaining.

I did have a dispute with eBay a couple of years back, Arrgee, and this was their comment:

Firstly, I would like to inform you that gaming machine listings are permitted only from licensed sellers (who mention their licence number in the listing) or if the machine is completely non-functioning and being sold only for parts in different listings.
Brian, let me share that despite the policy in place, we have detected that some sellers are breaching them. What has happened is other sellers have followed them and it has created a trend. We are now taking down necessary listings. There are no exceptions for any seller. Where it is necessary we are even restricting and suspending the sellers for the lifetime.
Please recognize that all sellers are same for eBay and any other seller is not more important to us than you.
I can assure you that our specialised team is working 24X7 on such machine listings, hence you will gradually see a decrease in the volume of such listings on the site.
Brian, I certainly understand that you have listed this machine in a good faith, i.e. for amusement only.
But please understand that we only allow slot machines with licence number

By which time I gave up and Vineet hoped I had a good day '!'

And yet I see listings of arcade machines most days on Ebay. What a ridiculous situation. :dammit:

Disingenuous at best, but quite frankly the statement from ebay is totally inaccurate, as tallstory mentions, there are machines on ebay most days, however, once they have made contact there is no other alternative but to take off the item - very frustrating.

This is an old topic re-resurrected every few years and am sure this will get linked to one the long running previous discussions. At the end of the day they are just showing they are doing their best to comply with local rules. I believe they have searches for key words when listing, eg when I have listed spares, which are allowed sometimes when using “one arm bandit” or other similar common terms “slot machine”, they do not always immediately list and can be delayed by up to 12 hours, I assume to allow someone to review. I have proved this by removing the listing without waiting and slowly removing terms that trigger this. Problem is it means your listing does not get same exposure as searches fail. Also I believe once you have been flagged, your account is more closely monitored, probably with more detailed search algorithms.

It is what it is and some are lucky, some not.......roll-on collectors auctions......maybe or hopefully some colleagues will set one up soon ;-)
