Is it Classed as Trade Stimulator? Info Please!

Post by slotsoffun »

What is it? Can anyone help with a recent machine I picked up. I'm putting this message out there in the hope of gaining more info about this old device. Very heavy probably cast iron, all complete. Has the top banner but broken off cleanly. I dropped a coin in and it played and paid a token on the side. Came locked, managed to pick the lock, back was seized on, but persuaded it off with a hammer!

Can anyone give some info about this, make and model, year, (French is as much as I know) and how much is it worth? I'm a bandits man so this is not my thing and know nothing about it?

I've done a quick video on my iPhone here:

Pierre-Abel Nau is the maker, I believe.
In Paris, in very early 20th century.

Name is on the machine? Les Petits Chevaux?

Made half a dozen or so different machines, made a red/white/blue horse machine of smaller size. Would think any of his surviving machines would be in the region of low thousands to buy and maybe significantly more if undamaged & complete?

Thank you for the info. Just trying to collect as much detail about it as possible. Looks complete and original. Not sure if it's worth cleaning or leaving as it is?

One sold in November 2004 from the Bernard Pansu Collection for $2,950 USD. It was attributed to "Nau, France 1911."

I wonder what the small plate on the front with the number 1926 on it denotes, perhaps the date?
The winner of the 1926 Grand Prix de Paris flat horse race was 'Take my Tip' whether that signifies anything is anyone's guess

Argee, those are licencing tags, and for each year they changed the design slightly, all early french machines I've had showed signs of them once being attached, though sadly usually missing. I made a mold of a couple and make my own using resin and alloy powder.
